What is a Millwright?

According to Wikipedia, a millwright “is a high-precision craftsman or skilled tradesman who installs, dismantles, maintains, repairs, reassembles, and moves machinery in factories, power plants, and construction sites”. You can also refer to them as an industrial mechanic. Basically, a millwright builds (and maintains) the things that make the things.

  • On-site project management for critical path, large scale, or time sensitive projects
  • AutoCAD layouts to assist in field installations
  • Project trucks that serve as rolling job sites – equipped with all necessary tools and equipment for field crews
  • Conex tool cribs – For large or permanent job sites, Newell Machinery has portable shipping containers that provide larger crews with the tools and equipment needed to complete the project

Millwright Maintenance

Our first priority is to keep your facility operating efficiently and correctly. We offer routine maintenance for facilities, as well as scheduled projects.

In addition, we’re always ready to provide the services you need, when you need them. Our millwrights are available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. In the event of an emergency or breakdown, our customers know they can count on us to quickly get a plant back up and running. Typically, depending on the location and nature of a breakdown, we can respond to a request within just 2-4 hours.

Millwright Training

We contract with Millwright 2158 Union Labor, which trains millwrights through one of the most respected and challenging apprenticeship programs in the United States. Apprentice millwrights undergo more than four years of intensive education and training. Their training covers a wide variety of millwright skills and abilities, which enables our millwrights to handle any task they’re given.

In addition, we are the most consistent millwright employer in the Midwest, with a number of employees who have been Newell Machinery millwrights for more than 30 years. This consistent employment allows our employees to completely understand the needs of our customers.. For this reason, we enjoy the highest levels of productivity of any millwright contractor in the United States.
